The B-Quiet sample has arrived today via post. It contains 5 pieces of samples consisting of B-Quiet Extreme, B-Quiet Ultimate, B-Quiet Hliner, B-Quiet Vcomp and B-Quiet Lcomp. Not sure how good they are but will test them out. Will be testing the B-Quiet Ultimate (for door Soundproofing) while B-quiet Ultimate + Lcomp (for front floor SP)

This is my Alpine Head Unit 9807. Bought in year 2002 and was transferred from my old Nissan Sunny to my current ride. As it is a 1 din HU, another tray was added to fill up the hole. Sony tray is good as the tray is steady and non flimsy.
This is the tweeter. Bought the Rainbow SL265 Deluxe component speakers. It came with a pair of tweeters, a pair of 6.5" speakers and a pair of crossovers. Can't really take the picture of the front door speakers as it has already installed. I'm lazy to open the door panel to take a photo on that... :) The 6 discs CD changer is another nostalgic hardware ported over from my old ride. It allows changing of CD much much easier... I'm just a lazy bacon.. haha..
This is the aircon with the aircon filter fitted into it. Two components are needed. Aircon filter (Caire Fresh HEPA aircon filter) and the filter tray.
By default, the slot is covered. Need to cut an opening to allow the tray to be seated nicely into it. Right inside, there is flap that control the air flow from outside. For cleaner air, the air vent should be closed at all times. By doing so, it will prevent polluted air from coming into the cabin easily. An aircon filter is needed to filter off any foul smell or dust.
This is the aircon filter (Cairefresh HEPA). It is a bit dirty and it should be cleaned using compressed air to blow away dust particles. Or, change to a new filter after some time.
Note that the wiremesh is at the bottom of filter.
This is my home computer. It is noisy due to the fan, harddisk vibration. I managed to find a quarter piece of sound mat for soundproofing of my car. As it is only a small piece left, I intend to test it on my home PC. My home computer is always noisy when the harddisk or fan spin causing the chassis to vibrate.

Here's the picture of the sound mat (Clasani Sound Mat). The effect is fantastic. My computer is now less noisy as the chassis vibrate lesser.

Aborted my DIY door soundproofing project due to work and family commitment. Don't wish to spend too much time on car. Sold the soundproofing materials to another car enthusiast.. Really hope to have the time to do it. Perhaps, will KIV this project and may comeback some time next year. Did i say next year? :)

Coming up next, added a pair of front speakers, tweeters and crossovers. The stock speakers are really pathetic. It really cannot project out the music and vocal of my Compact Disc (CD). With recommendation from Johnny, I've installed Rainbow speakers, SLX265 Deluxe, at AudioEdge along Jurong Kechil road. I'm able to experience clearer music and vocal with this new pair of speakers cum tweeters. I simply love it!! Met up with iBaygon to seek his advice on door panel dismantling. Well, seeing is believing, it is really really simple! Next task is to plan for the material application onto the door panels (internal and exterior layer). Might not have sufficient cable hunter for a single door panel with 2 layers. To my surprise yesterday, I saw my D1 Spec Volt Stablizer came off from the battery. In fact, 3M double sided tape should stick the D1 Spec VS tightly onto the car battery surface.

Call up the installer and get it repositioned at another location nearer the air intake. In addition, the cable tie SHOULD NOT tie to the radiator hose.. This is a lesson learned.

Well, my Canon Powershot G2 is not with me now.. Hence, unable to take pictures to show in this blog site. More pictures coming soon for the next new project!!!

New additional item added yesterday 29th October 2005 1.10pm. A D1 Spec Motor Racing Sport Volt Stabilizer was added to enhance the Altis electrical circuitry performance. The D1 Spec comes with 3 points grounding (1 ground to engine, 1 ground to alternator, and 1 ground to car body chassis). In fact, Altis has already done 2 grounding from the factory. We have found several products in the market (Ez-stab, Pivot Raizin, Max Volt). In the end, we selected D1 Spec (with no regret indeed)

Here's a closeup look at the stock battery. Grounding and the D1 Spec volt stabilizer. The LED indicator shows the battery usage 13.5 when the car is in idle stage.

After crank, with aircon, foglight, light, my alphine HU turned on, the figure shoots up to around 14.x

We did a comparison before and after installation of D1 spec. The headlamp is brighter, aircon is cooler, music clarity is clearer and the pickup is faster/smoother after the installation. Too bad, I forgotten to bring along my CF card with my camera yesterday. Else, I could take photos on the before and after installation effect. Overall, worth the installation. Will be monitoring the fuel consumption next few days/weeks. I'm very happy with this product. Looks pretty cool with this gadget sitting next to the stock battery. Thanks to Johnny for the research done lately. :)

Coming up next..... door SP.

Pulling out of weather stripes from edge of chassis. Simple to do.
We (Johnny and I) started at about 9.40am. Met up with iBaygon (another forummer DIYGURU) at about 11am plus.. TCSS and learn alot of DIY things from him.

This is the stock sound proof felt provided by Toyota.

Added sound proof mat (Clasani). A very easy to use product. Just peel and paste. Very sticky kind of material and it sticks well onto the roof. I did that for the in cabin roof as well as the boot cover.

Now!! we shall wait for a heavy downpour day.

With lots of thanks to the DIY gurus, Frankie aka Car_9, iBaygon, and v200. Of course, Johnny!!! Lots of assistance from him. Next project? hmmm.. grounding + Raizin volt stabiliser...

Magnum Stebel II horn consists of 1 High tone and 1 Low tone. It is an electric horn and not an air horn. Hence, it is legal with LTA. Many thanks to my friend Johnny Tan who has helped me with the installation. We made use of the stock horn power input line for the Magnum stebel horn. The stock horn is simply too soft. Just like a scooter horn.

Diagram from forummers on how to fix up the Magnum Stebel II Horn.

We fix the horn without the relay. It should not be a problem as long as we don't press the horn for more than 5 mins continously.

These are the diagrams which we analysed and plan out our materials before installation. Many thanks to toyota forummers for their advice and on site demo of their installation.

3M Rubberized Undercoating (black) ItemNo:08883.

Basic items needed: Need alot of newspaper. Get NewPaper (small and right size for covering the wheel), Car Jack, old cloth or rag, and drinking water.. damn siong jacking up and down if DIY.

Jacking up by the side of car.. Make sure that the jack seat into the groove. (as indicated in the car manual). Only do for my front 2 wheels as trial first. Jack left side and spray 1st layer. Followed by right side and vice versa...

This is the completed coating.. It is black but with flash light, it is a bit greyish..

This is the wrap up of my wheel. Need to jack the car up so that ample space is there for spraying.

Here are some additional pictures taken after a quick car wash. With Toughseal, an acrylic paint protection layer on top of original car paint has made my cleaning much easier. Picture was taken around 6.45pm. It's getting dark and I guess the picture quality may not as good. Using my Canon Powershot G2 digital camera for all photos here.

Here's my Bridgestone GR80 closeup look. Together with Kyowa 16" Rims 7 spokes Model KR222. Cleaning is not so tough as the spokes are well spaced. My previous K-speed was a tough rim to clean.

My Ultra Racing struct bar. Though it is not as good looking as Alutec or some other branded struct bar, it serves its purpose. Most of the components in the engine compartment are stock. Don't intend to change much.

Side view of the altis.

Managed to find some time to wash my car today. It has a layer of dust/dirt on it and cleaning was a bit tough. Bird shits, dead leaves, tree saps and many other kind of dirt can be found on a car.

My very first car. Nissan Sunny 1.5EX (Auto) Silver Metallic. With the following items installed: Front horizontal grille, Broquest BM40, 15" K-Speed rims with Bridgestone Potenza G3 tyres, Foglamp, Alpine audio head unit with CD Changer.
Collected on 26th April 2001 at Tan Chong. Traded in on 26th June 2005 for Toyota Altis.

Pictures taken at Mt Faber during year 2003.

Front left headlamp with foglamp...

My Kyosho Mini-Z Racer. It is a fast speed remote control car with lots of batteries needed. My room is too small to toy around with this. To date, it is just a display unit next to my home PC. Nice stuff...
