New additional item added yesterday 29th October 2005 1.10pm. A D1 Spec Motor Racing Sport Volt Stabilizer was added to enhance the Altis electrical circuitry performance. The D1 Spec comes with 3 points grounding (1 ground to engine, 1 ground to alternator, and 1 ground to car body chassis). In fact, Altis has already done 2 grounding from the factory. We have found several products in the market (Ez-stab, Pivot Raizin, Max Volt). In the end, we selected D1 Spec (with no regret indeed)

Here's a closeup look at the stock battery. Grounding and the D1 Spec volt stabilizer. The LED indicator shows the battery usage 13.5 when the car is in idle stage.

After crank, with aircon, foglight, light, my alphine HU turned on, the figure shoots up to around 14.x

We did a comparison before and after installation of D1 spec. The headlamp is brighter, aircon is cooler, music clarity is clearer and the pickup is faster/smoother after the installation. Too bad, I forgotten to bring along my CF card with my camera yesterday. Else, I could take photos on the before and after installation effect. Overall, worth the installation. Will be monitoring the fuel consumption next few days/weeks. I'm very happy with this product. Looks pretty cool with this gadget sitting next to the stock battery. Thanks to Johnny for the research done lately. :)

Coming up next..... door SP.

Pulling out of weather stripes from edge of chassis. Simple to do.
We (Johnny and I) started at about 9.40am. Met up with iBaygon (another forummer DIYGURU) at about 11am plus.. TCSS and learn alot of DIY things from him.

This is the stock sound proof felt provided by Toyota.

Added sound proof mat (Clasani). A very easy to use product. Just peel and paste. Very sticky kind of material and it sticks well onto the roof. I did that for the in cabin roof as well as the boot cover.

Now!! we shall wait for a heavy downpour day.

With lots of thanks to the DIY gurus, Frankie aka Car_9, iBaygon, and v200. Of course, Johnny!!! Lots of assistance from him. Next project? hmmm.. grounding + Raizin volt stabiliser...

Magnum Stebel II horn consists of 1 High tone and 1 Low tone. It is an electric horn and not an air horn. Hence, it is legal with LTA. Many thanks to my friend Johnny Tan who has helped me with the installation. We made use of the stock horn power input line for the Magnum stebel horn. The stock horn is simply too soft. Just like a scooter horn.

Diagram from forummers on how to fix up the Magnum Stebel II Horn.

We fix the horn without the relay. It should not be a problem as long as we don't press the horn for more than 5 mins continously.

These are the diagrams which we analysed and plan out our materials before installation. Many thanks to toyota forummers for their advice and on site demo of their installation.

3M Rubberized Undercoating (black) ItemNo:08883.

Basic items needed: Need alot of newspaper. Get NewPaper (small and right size for covering the wheel), Car Jack, old cloth or rag, and drinking water.. damn siong jacking up and down if DIY.

Jacking up by the side of car.. Make sure that the jack seat into the groove. (as indicated in the car manual). Only do for my front 2 wheels as trial first. Jack left side and spray 1st layer. Followed by right side and vice versa...

This is the completed coating.. It is black but with flash light, it is a bit greyish..

This is the wrap up of my wheel. Need to jack the car up so that ample space is there for spraying.

Here are some additional pictures taken after a quick car wash. With Toughseal, an acrylic paint protection layer on top of original car paint has made my cleaning much easier. Picture was taken around 6.45pm. It's getting dark and I guess the picture quality may not as good. Using my Canon Powershot G2 digital camera for all photos here.

Here's my Bridgestone GR80 closeup look. Together with Kyowa 16" Rims 7 spokes Model KR222. Cleaning is not so tough as the spokes are well spaced. My previous K-speed was a tough rim to clean.

My Ultra Racing struct bar. Though it is not as good looking as Alutec or some other branded struct bar, it serves its purpose. Most of the components in the engine compartment are stock. Don't intend to change much.

Side view of the altis.

Managed to find some time to wash my car today. It has a layer of dust/dirt on it and cleaning was a bit tough. Bird shits, dead leaves, tree saps and many other kind of dirt can be found on a car.
