Bought this USB mini desk fan at Sim Lim Square. Cost : S$14. Useful for office use if there is an aircon failure. Fan speed is strong and cooling. However, noise level is high too. Available in 4 colors, Orange, Green, Grey or Blue.Friday, June 29, 2007
Lesson learned today. Must wash and wax panel by panel. Should not rush into completion. Preferably, manually wax and buff off rather than using oscillator. Though it is faster to use oscillator, guess it is neater to be manual. And, 1 most important step, that is , use of claybar to remove contaminants during car wash. I have miss out this particular step.It is not so useful to use the water hose at a HDB MSCP water dispenser. The timer will cut off the water, hence, little water is available. Maybe I should shorten the hose more. That will reduce the length that the water need to travel.
Here are some pictures of using 3M wax.

Bought a bottle of 3M Liquid wax at AMK HUB NTUC. Tested on a small portion of my boot cover while waiting to fetch my wife at her office. The after effect is superb!
It rained last night and the water droplets were formed on the boot cover. Drove to office, that particular portion tend to dry up and smoothern. While the uncleaned portion contain water droplets and dirt.

Finally bought this hose reel at AMK Hub NTUC. For S$29.90, it comprises of 1 reel, 20metres hose, nozzle and connector to tap. The hose is too long for my car wash. I may have to trim it shorter for ease of use at the washing bay. Have yet to find the time to test it out noting that fact that the washing bay is using timed water dispenser. Here's the picture of what i have now.
Hmm.. wonder if i can connect to a 12 volt water pump and a water storage tank.

Hose, hose reel and connectors. This seems to be a good tool for washing car. Next concern is the timer controlled water dispenser at our Multi storey car park washing bay. $0.20 for a few seconds of water for 1 pail. Let's see if I can use the hose to fasten my car wash. Can be found at Esso Mobil petrol kiosk or Ang Mo Kio Hub NTUC. $29.90.

Went to nearby shopping mall to shop and dine this evening. While browsing at a Home Fix shop, I came across this product "Auto Cool" which claim that it can cool down your car when it is parked under hot sun for hours. Almost tempted to buy it but the price tag prohibited me. And thank goodness, I did the right thing of not getting it.
Here's the reason why. Refer to http://www.nbc4.com/dirdt/9733390/detail.html. They have tested the product and it does not really work at all! Phew! Money still in my wallet. :)

Borrowed a 12 volt orbiter from a friend for the waxing and buffling. Knowing that some polisher/orbiter may create swirl mark on the car surface, I try it on my boot. Here are the steps that I applied:-
- Wash boot surface with water to remove dirt.
- Use claybar with soapy water to remove hard to remove contaminants.
- Wipe dry with a cloth and make sure the surface is clean.
- Applied Hi-Glaze88 onto the trunk surface and let it dry.
- Use the orbiter and buff off the glaze.
- Use microfibre cloth to remove any other residue on the surface.
Here's the end result of the trunk surface. As it is evening time, there isn't enought sunlight to see the surface. Will observe under strong lighting in my car park if i have the chance.
On the other hand, the use of Pink Wax seems not favourable as the surface tend to 'blur' after i apply the pink wax and buff off.
Guess Hi-glaze88 is sufficient for me.

It is time to change my aircon filter. Last change was at 30,000km mileage. Now, it's already 50,000km. Suppose to change every 15,000km but I didn't.
Saw this product at NTUC supermarket. Bought it at $19.90 just to try it on my car. Anyway, just need to implement this twice per year only. The process is simple,
1. Start the car
2. Turn on the aircon and circulate mode ON.
3. Pull the front passenger seat forward.
4. Put the canister on a cloth and press the button to activate the particles.
5. Close all doors and windows and let it run for approximately 10minutes.
6. Once done, wipe the interior dry
7. Job done!
Conclusion, it gives a slight citrus smell and seems slight improvement on the air quality. Most importantly, have to keep the car interior clean.

Deepest sympathies and condolences to Roland's Family
It is a very sad day for all of us today to lose a nice colleague, Roland Yeo. He is survived by his wife and 2 young sons. Life will be different for his family and his wife must be strong to bring up her 2 kids. Roland is a very positive person I know. His words were very encouraging and he was always humble. We will always remember you….

It feels good to see that your own car is in good condition with clean interior just like new. Giving the car a good wash with a nice coat of wax will make the car more slick and clean. The smoothing touching when you run your fingers or hand on the smooth surface. Car washing is a hassle especially when you stay in a Housing Development Board (HDB) flat in Singapore. The only place that you can wash your own car is at the Multi Story Car Park (MSCP in short) washing bay. Over there, you will need $0.20 coins to get a pail of water for your car wash. Unlike those staying in private houses, they can have a hose connecting to their tap and free flow of water. Lack of electricity outlet also prohibits the use of electrical grooming tools like polisher/orbiter and other washing devices. On my recent internet search, I found an interesting product "The Dirtworker Portable pressure washer". This product can only be found in USA and it is expensive to import here. More information can be found at http://www.thedirtworker.com
I find it useful for car washing especially in our HDB car park. It comes with a 12 volt power connector which I can connect to my car cigarette socket for power source.

I was hoping that someone somewhere can just send a set for me to try it out. :)
